Yamato (present-day Nara Prefecture) is widely viewed as the Japanese cradle of civilization. It was during the Nara period that tea was first introduced in Japan.
This traditional karigane-cha has a mildly nutty, slightly creamy sweet flavor, and is made from the tea stems of four different cultivars. For at least 10 generations, the farmer’s family has lovingly harvested tea using water naturally filtered by the ancient mountains of Nara Prefecture.
Each cup is a true taste of history.
