This Wazuka tea was presented to the Japanese Emperor by the 2nd Shogun Tokugawa Hidetada during the early Edo period. Since, this “Emperor’s Tea” has been grown for generations at the foot of Mount Washimine, in Wazuka. Teas grown on the soil of Mount Washimine are renowned for their distinctive, refreshing aroma.
Expressed at a very low temperature (55C), this organic tea produced by seven generations of local growers offers intense umami, rich body, and complex minerality.
